Safe, non-invasive and effective
RTMS London are delighted to be the first rheumatology clinic in the U.K to offer this pioneering therapy for fibromyalgia and chronic pain, using a well-established, pain-free brain stimulation technique to reduce activity in the pain processing network of your brain. RTMS has an excellent safety record, is totally non-invasive and entirely medication-free, giving you relief without many of the side-effects of traditional fibromyalgia management.
RTMS London specialise in the treatment of fibromyalgia syndrome, a chronic condition that causes widespread body pain, brain fog and fatigue.
What is TMS?
Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a brain stimulation technology that has the unique ability to alter levels of activity in specific regions of the brain, helping to restore them to healthier levels of function.
In the heart of London’s world famous Harley Street, consultant rheumatologist Dr Stephanie Barrett and her team are dedicated to finding a way to help people suffering with fibromyalgia.
Frustrated by the lack of treatment options available for your fibromyalgia?
Fibromyalgia is notoriously difficult to detect and treat. Many people face the frustration of being told that all of their test results are “normal” and that there is very little that can be done to help them. At RTMS London we intend to change that, as our pioneering brain stimulation treatment has been shown to both reduce pain, and improve quality of life, in patients with this debilitating condition. The best part is that it is incredibly safe, non-invasive and medication-free. We love nothing more than talking about all things rTMS and fibromyalgia, so please contact us to find out more.

Thank you so much for the report and the referral. I get a lot of comfort from the fact you believe me and you can find reason for what is happening. As always I am very grateful for you. You are very talented and special.
If you have Fibromyalgia then you know how difficult it is to get to a diagnoses. However, the problems don't stop there. Treatment(s) are still immature and target symptoms. On the other hand, rTMS targets root-cause and has drastically increased my quality of life. I haven't felt this good in 3 years. Besides that, the staff was professional, explanatory, friendly, and a pleasure to meet.
I cannot recommend rTMS treatment enough if you have fibromyalgia. It is truly life changing, and I only wish that more people knew about it. Not only does it help with your symptoms of pain but also has such a big impact on your mental health. The service provided from the first appointment to your last is seamlessly professional and patient-centred.
Dr Barrett is an extremely kind and compassionate clinician, not only with a wealth of knowledge in her field but also a complete understanding of the impact your condition can have on your whole life. Her swift diagnosis and treatment, which was declined by the NHS initially helped to restore my health and wellbeing, for which I am extremely grateful.

"Having a consultation in this way meant that I could be seen while symptoms were active, whereas with my NHS appointments I always found that symptoms had settled down by the time I had my appointments – this made it much more difficult to explain them to doctors."

"The whole process was much easier than I expected. I was able to book over the phone rather than via an online booking process, and all of my queries and initial communications were dealt with by the same member of the team, who was extremely helpful and reassuring. I was able to get an appointment within a week. The appointment itself was stress-free and provided me with clarity and reassurance about my medical condition. It’s very useful to have a professional opinion about health conditions and I would probably have done this sooner if I’d known how quick and easy the whole process would be. "

"A very positive experience for me, providing what I had requested : clarity and an action plan regarding a cluster of symptoms I’d been experiencing for some years, but which had remained undiagnosed. Having a diagnosis is in some ways a relief and makes it so much easier to share health information with officials such as HR and Occupational Health teams, as well as with my GP surgery. It is also very useful, in a pandemic situation, to be able to provide all of these services with clearer information about my medical condition. "
"I recently completed a course of 20 treatment sessions over a 4 week period with TMS. Elliot made the whole process very straightforward and immediately put me at ease, explaining what I could expect from the treatment and answering all my questions. I have been pleased with the benefits already experienced - noticeably better mood, clearer mind and reduced body pain."
"I mainly thought that the treatment was going to improve my headaches and my neck pain, so I was incredibly surprised when, not only did my migraines disappear, but my crippling back pain and leg pain greatly improved as well! Because of this I managed to sleep wonderfully and I felt much less anxiety than the previous week."
